Newnan Landscape Supply | Fall Lawn care Tips

Fall is officially here and the temperatures are slowly falling. This brings the question, “How do I care for my lawn during this cooler season?” Here are a few tips to help you get started.

1)     Until your grass stops growing, there is no need to change the height on your lawnmower – you can continue to cut your grass as usual. There is one exception to this: if you have warm season turf grass, you should raise the height by ½ of an inch.

2)     Fall is a great time to fertilize your yard. Using a winterizer fertilizer will encourage great root growth and development on your yard before the cold weather starts. This will help your beautiful grass make it through the winter to the spring.

3)     Applying a pre-emergent will help keep the weeds at bay during the fall season. Weeds begin to germinate during the winter season, getting ready to pop up in the spring.
